When I started querying NO BAD DEED in 2018, I had few resources. Now, I’m thrilled to be able to call on my experience as an internationally published author in support of authors who might be in a similar position.
In addition to more than five years as a Big 5 author, I have an English degree from UC Berkeley and more than a decade of experience in corporate writing/editing and journalism. After several years of providing editing services for national writers’ conferences, I’ve recently chosen to expand my editing and consulting services and offer them on a year-round basis as my schedule permits.
I edit in all fiction genres except science fiction/fantasy, though I work most often in thriller/suspense, mystery, and mainstream fiction. While I love working with other authors, time constraints force me to choose my projects carefully. Because of this, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if I am a good fit for your project.

The Plot Package includes one 30-minute consult, which can be scheduled anytime during the process. It also includes at least two passes of an outline of up to 10 single-spaced pages. If you don’t outline, you can instead submit an additional 10 pages of your work in progress for review.

Want feedback on that first draft? The Write Package provides a high-level review of your partial or complete manuscript to help you devise a revision plan, with a focus on structure, plot, consistency, mechanics, and other big-picture elements. Limited line editing within the manuscript to illustrate feedback provided in the evaluation, which will be at least two single-spaced pages. Includes a 30-minute consult to discuss feedback

Revise.
Want a deeper dive? With a developmental edit, the manuscript will be read multiple times, with an eye toward structural and content issues, including but not limited to continuity, pace, characterization, setting, and voice. Includes some line edits and more detailed feedback, with an editorial note of at least five single-spaced pages.

Turnaround times
- Outline or first chapter, up to 10 pages: up to 10 business days
- Partial manuscript up to 40,000 words: up to 20 business days

All materials should be submitted in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with one-inch margins. Partial or full manuscripts should be double-spaced. Outlines should be single-spaced.
